Many elections ago I spoke with the candidate from the greens party. I was interested to hear his views on education. All private schools should be closed. When asked just where and how those children would be educated. His response was at the same place, except now those premises and land would be the property of the government. He proceeded to tell me that he had returned from Cuba where he marched in the May Day procession. Oh, was I aware that Cuba had the highest literacy rate in the world!!! Words failed me, and I just walked away.
