    I've met children in Melbourne from State schools & private schools & it's immediately obvious when you talk to them which are which without even asking.
    There is a huge difference in the quality of the education they are receiving. I can completely understand why any parent who could afford to send their child to a private school would do.

    The issue is not trying to penalise private schools & trying to lower the education they provide but raise State schools to an acceptable level.

    As I posted education in Australia is chronically underfunded but that is not the biggest issue.
    The biggest issue is how people value the education system & I'm sorry to say that parents who send their kids to State schools value it very low.

    As for opportunities etc
    Life isn't fair or equal & Australia is not a communist state.
