I often find exercises like this (going back to old threads 10+ years) can be quite helpful. Years and even months can feel quite long at the time but they're really not, not in the world of business. You really need to be willing to remain invested for 10 years or longer if you're hoping to the big performers. Of course buy and hold doesn't always work but that's not the point, you only really need one stock to go up 100x or perhaps a few to go up 10x and you will vastly outperform even if most of your other calls don't work out (obviously not the intention but it's a nice bit of reassurance). You could count on one hand the number of positions Buffet took to make his fortune, and he's been in them for decades!
