It’s is not just about selling - instos have a much greater ability to add to declining positions if they feel fundamentally good about a stock .
Retailers directly invest with their hard earned ( their compulsory super and the like most have no control over - insto money ) . In tough market times I think retailers see their declining $ stock values and don’t like to lose . It is easy for them to push the sell button.
