Yes, I agree. I see a bigger war coming. The US want to maintain its global hegemony.
The Chinese have tried to assuage US concerns by promoting the "Win-Win" concept. But the US gov (thus far) is having none of it. They want to be the Only Superpower in the world. No sharing of the world with them.
The Ukraine proxy war is just a prelude of what is to come.
Unfortunately for us, we are locked in, by Morrison's AUKUS deal. And we don't have politicians like Keating or Whitlam anymore to stand up for our independence.
So we will go along with whatever the US decides; even to the detriment of our country and economy. We will be like Ukraine in the Southern Ocean.
And on the other side, Russia and China will join forces (IMHO).
And in the years ahead, we are going to see, in our media, old tropes being brought back to life, like "Yellow peril", "Red under your bed", "Communism", "Imperial Russia", "Stalin reborn" etc etc etc.
