The "Boris wrecked peace talks" lie is much like the "US coup"...

The "Boris wrecked peace talks" lie is much like the "US coup" lie in trying to pin the Maidan Revolution of Dignity on a tapped phone call of Nuland.

Taking one event, that didn't actually impact the outcome, among many events of much greater significance over a period of time and desperately trying to pin a narrative on that event. Same pro Kremlin tactic, same result, ineffective.

It just shows an unwillingness, or inability, I'm not sure, to be able to understand nuance, evolution of circumstances (especially those not in their favour) and how those confluence of events can impact an outcome.

Boris did not scuttle any "peace talks' between Russian and Ukraine. Russian made demands, Ukraine did not agree is the simplest form.

Using the word agreement firstly is simply misleading considering there was no agreement, there were demands by the Putin regime, sorry talks between the two parties that DID NOT REACH ANY AGREEMENT. The two sides held talks, no agreement reached. Boris did not scuttle them.

Let"s look at an overview of the talks...

    - There was never any agreement reached on Russian demands that Ukraine cede territory
    - Russian demands on Ukrainian force size came late in the negotiations and were never agreed
    - Putin refused to meet with Zelensky to discuss negotiations, he thought he was too important and wanted to humiliate Zelensky by not seeing him as equal (funny how many cry about Zelensky not wanting Peace when it was Putin who refused to negotiate when there was a chance for "peace")
    - The battlefield situation evolved drastically against Russian forces where Ukraine stunned Russia with a devastating defeat of Russian forces around Kyiv
    - War crimes massacres soured any negotiation mood and had probably the single biggest impact on negotiations

Since then, Ukraine has not had to renounce Nato ambitions, they did not recognise any of their lands as Russian as Putin demanded (in fact they liberated more than half), they have increased their force size, and they have beaten back Russian forces to a situation where Putin can never achieve a single objective while delivering monumental losses on Putin's invasion and occupation forces.

Ukraine have managed the situation that Putin will never achieve his aims. It is over, Putin has lost, all that is happening now is the Kremlin side are desperately trying to salvage something they can claim is a win.

Nothing stopping Putin from ending his failed war.
