well they aren't using meatwave tactics as russia are and certainly aren't sustaining losses anywhere near that of russia .....or using extreme measures t recruit as russia have been russia have an advantage - Ukraine could certainly use more but the differentialisn't extreme or a game changer as you seem to wish to imply
there may be a difficulty IDENTIFYING UAF soldiers at times through direct artillery hits (similar to ww1) - russ use a lot of artillery and these powerful gliding bombs and I suspect some sizeable proportion of UAF deaths and casualties due to these.
apart from that - beurocracy I suspect - have heard similar complaints from russ wives
