A not so odd observation is that Russians and Ukrainians don't really want to be fighting each other.
Russia seems nervous about exerting air superiority.
On the same tangent there seems to be reluctance to destroy a 40 mile traffic jam of Russian vehicles north of Kyiv. I would have thought that an SU25 flying at power pole level could cause massive loss of life if it could get through to the jammed up convoy. Conventional artillery targetting jammed up roads would also be devastating
And why would the Russians expose themselves with huge convoys without full air superiority?
On the one hand fighting on the ground has been fierce. At another level it's not so fierce.
