Agreed that this is not the place for such a debate, however I look forward to our discussion when/if the opportunity arises. I'm sure you have a very interesting reason for investing other than wealth maximisation, and who knows perhaps after hearing your reasons I will become similarly enlightened as you are and less "narrow minded"
But the vast majority of people invest to maximise wealth, so you should respect that and not make such an objective out to be evil, because it's not. It's an admirable trait of someone seeking to make a better life for themselves and their family, and help contribute to society in the process.
