well, IMO - it's now a clear and ever-present danger
sailorgirl is correct - there wasn't much fuss about it from people or opposition
I can understand that the opposition stood aside and let the government do it's thing - in an emergency
to me - that's a reasonable thing - because 'it's an emergency' and governments shouldn't be hampered by political footballing during real emergencies
but, in the end ------ no one kicked up a fuss - hardly at all
I think that people AND the oppositions should have at the very least after the gate was closed - to hammer the government and asked -
ok, under what conditions are you going to lift the restrictions on freedom of travel
but, no - there was zip ----------- everyone just sat back and sucked it up -
the point is that in future - some government may well want to do the same kind of thing and can now justify it by saying ------------- 'it's happened before, we did it in 2020'and people accepted it
yeah right - that's exactly part of the power of precedent
