Yeah, nobody gets their gold back from BoE. Australia is storing it's gold there atm.
Although I recall that the Australian government stores far more silver bullion then gold, but I don't recall where they store that silver bullion. It was truly bizarre as governments almost never store silver bullion as it's to cheap in price compared to gold.
If things truly went the way of a gold standard again, then Perth mints gold would immediately become the governments, so would the gold mines and any gold it could get it's hand on.
