Treasurer Scott Morrison, who was briefed by senior officials on Friday, told reporters Australia's exposure was "very limited".
"We will see some short-term volatility ... but the smarter investors are always the cooler heads in these circumstances, and the government has a cool head on these matters," Mr Morrison said.
Labor leader Bill Shorten said Australia could withstand any fallout from a Brexit.
i predict there is going to be a lot of buying next week..and that will sort it all out..the lead up to the brexit caused fluctuations ..some picked the outcome wrong ...sold and will now buy back ..they have the $$ and will be looking for cheap prices ..mid week /end of week will tell the story ,all is well in stock market hell
