How lacking in foresight is this wasted investment. Put it into something for future world innovation such as lithium battery replacement, AI robotics or some other high tech specialisation field in partnership with industry instead of producing solar panels which have already been well advanced technically in production and manufacturing. Basic research is the best place to put govt dollars in specialised production of goods not mass production. Leave that to China and large market countries.
