The intent was to have at least a years stockpile before production starts. Also there was ore that’s initially for DSO that can be processed as well if needed
Having that huge stockpile will ensure continuous production despite occasional breakdown or routine maintenance of mining equipment- it seems that’s simply common sense, and common practice in the sector.
