The recent astronomical gas prices would arguably be the main driver to the resurrection of the doomsday machine. However, gas and coal are now much cheaper and Japan will likely be able to lock in cheaper coal contracts this year. IMO, revival of the remaining reactors will not go ahead. There will be significant cost in recommissioning the mothballed reactors. It will be unsafe and uneconomical.
