I don’t understand the silence today. Are people stunned by the 5+% rise in WHC’s share price? With other coal stocks also performing strongly, today’s market surely suggests that the BB (Bowen/Bandt) announcements made yesterday are not the terminal threat that some have made them out to be. Rising coal prices, buoyant demand, strong cash flows — why not be optimistic, despite the evident risks and challenges?
