The problem we have with governments , especially Labour governments , is when they see a pot of gold like our super they believe a portion of it is rightfully theirs to do what they want with. I have feeling the ALP's plan is to stop early access to your super , put massive restrictions on self managed funds and use the money to fund some of their promises like social housing . The industry super funds will build and own the projects and the government will pay back into the funds through the rental subsidised welfare system . A smoke and mirrors tactic by this quasi treasurer to balance the books with your savings . Taxes and government bonds are used to fund expenditure not your savings.
