My advice when searching your Bible, keep it in the forefront of your mind, SPIRITUAL after Jesus and get the physical notions out of your head.
All OT physical events, in one way or another, are foreshadows of the now Spiritual.
A bit like now, those that are truly of Jesus's, ARE God's Israel, your mother is Jerusalem above etc.
Spiritually, now you should be in the Heavenly Kingdom and know with certainty.
Many verses have a twofold message in this regard, and it's very easy to jump for what look obvious, from first glance, but dig deeper or think deeper.
That is just a snippet
With regards to your question, keep in mind that Jesus has the name The Word of God and one Key meaning of it is, he is the God and Fathers Key representative for the word of God = ALL of it.
