I think you’ll find we are about 2 decades behind the UK. I’m betting a similar scenario in 20 years.

We must do something with taxation on in ground wealth. Has to happen. Downhill permanently if we don’t.

Services are beginning to stretch now. With what is required in growth to take us where we need to be. There needs to be lot more planning and action.

Governments here are all about staying in power and not sorting out any future. They are as bad as those in the UK.

    Infra likewise services above.

What has happened in Aus is that we have taken our eye off the future and look only at now. How is housing going? Seen the myriad of tents in Brisbane alone popping up all over?

We needed proper immigration (by skill) some time ago. Now we are behind the curve. We need immigration desperately in lots of trades and engineering disciplines. However we need to house them? So we need to get our focus together and look at how we get out of the trap set by Government because of ‘zero future proofing’.

It’s difficult. And here in Qld we have houses to build, an olympics to build and a major infra program to accommodate it all. Never mind Mel and Syd who have major programs of their own.

And we need to start developing accessibility to the regions from the major cities. Or build upwards. The regions can’t be left in the lurch either.

Game on, as they say. Taxation of in ground wealth would enable the Gov. now and future to plan and action better. Will they? Doubtful. Self interest wins the day. That’s the lack of social conscience. We don’t have it either in Parliament.
