IMO, Labor have long known that fossil fuels will be needed for the foreseeable future
what Labor - as the current government should be working on is the future BEYOND wind and solar
why? because wind and solar - are weather dependent and ALL weather dependent power generation technologies are exactly that - dependent
so to is any network where the power is carried by lines in the sky.
one day, we'll get a dirty big volcano and the dust will knock out all weather dependent power generation AND transmission lines
it's not 'if', it's 'when' - and we are over due for such a condition.
In a totally power and internet connected dependent world - that's a major risk
someone has to work on it sooner or later --------- just when is anyone going to begin?
