Yes I agree with a lot of that, but the reality is that we cannot control what despots decide to do elsewhere, and there is an obligation by being the more powerful nation in our region in the Sth Pacific to maintain stability. I'm not a believer that the American weapons industry dictates wars, it's just the by product that benefits when there is one. If that was the reason why the US entered wars they'd still be in Afghanistan pumping through the ammo. They are making sheet loads of money profiting from the Ukraine war but thats merely a reaction to Putin. The planet will always need a strong democaratic America. For all their faults they are still the primary copper on the beat to keep the peace, but they do need assistance when required.
