hmm, there are MANY types of robots, most accomplish a very specific goal like spot welding for example
if you make a lot of simple bits and labor is expensive a robot can be a cost effective solution to a simple piece of repetitive work
robots are not a panacea for every part of an assembly line, often most of the work is done by a CNC mill, an injection mould a punch press etc, these are not "robots", they are machines, but they are very robot-like
