“Remember Pascal Sliman, the Christian leader allegedly murdered during a car robbery, who's body was found in Syria? The blame fell on Syrian refugees in Lebanon, and that led to threats and assaults by Christians on Syrians. In some Chrisitian neighborhoods, Syrian residents received warnings to leave if they want to leave. In some places, Syrians were beaten in the streets.
In Sliman's funeral, the leader of the Lebanese parties against Hezbollah, Samir Jaja, said the following: "This is the time of danger. Our fight (with Hezbollah) continues alongside all the Lebanese who don't want a war every 5-10 years... we don't want to find ourselves in a war that we don't know who leads it, and who does not care about Lebanon's interests."
Remember: a war with Israel could very likely spark an internal war with the anti-Hezbollah and Syrian opposition forces, who are just waiting for their revenge. New and surprising alliances will be formed and Hezbollah knows it.
Hamas failed to spark the Palestinians in the West Bank or in Israel. The Ramadan passed quietly, Eid al-Fitr is over, the Temple Mount remained quiet... so now Hamas tries again to stir unrest about Jewish intentions to make sacrifices to god on the Temple Mount for Passover. It didn't happen in the past 2,000 years, why on earth would it change this year? Does Hamas believe Arabs will fall for everything?
