Gaza was not a prison camp nor was it occupied territory.
The Israelis pulled out in 2005 and the PLO began governing (as they currently do in the West Bank).
In 2006, Hamas won an election, and proceeded to eliminate PLO governance (about 116 or so PLO memebers were killed). Hamas has run Gaza since, turning all aid money received into weapons, tunnels, and propaganda schools, not to mention, many Hamas leaders becoming Billionaires living a high life in Qatar.
