Hi Stevo - sorry to hear that - hope you get positive news.

My father lost his battle with cancer in 1987 - it had started as prostate cancer but spread including to his brain. Back then, there was not much else than surgery, chemo and radiation as a treatment. It was horrible.

My brother-in-law lost his battle with cancer in 2016. He was initially diagnosed in 2013 - stage 4 melanoma that had spread through his body and organs. He managed to get access to a not-yet approved drug (not sure what - Keytruda perhaps?) which completely eradicated the cancer. He had three more years of quality life but eventually cancer returned - this time to his brain and no therapy at the time (and perhaps still now) could cross the blood-brain barrier.

10 years later, advances in cancer understanding and therapy continue apace, and a positive prognosis is no longer the exception. So even if you don't initially get the news that you would like, there is every reason for optimism.
