what you need to factor in is political will and what is acceptable to the people of each country

at present Ukraine aren't conscripting anyone younger than 25 .....there is a demographic to draw from presently untouched .
nor are Ukraine losing men at the rate russia are .....oft times lately they choose to concede ground if the cost in defenders is too high and they certainly don't emulate the so often seen russ meatwave attacks

on the other hand russia are holding back too and not conscripting too much from those two big cities .....clearly the russ are not keen to be involved in this war or there wouldn't be all this global recruiting by russia we are seeing ....Indians ,Nepalese ,Cubans and africans as well as the Georgians , central Asians ,Serbs and others .
putins reticense indicates he is afraid of a potential backlash by the people
peace wuld be a very popular thing in russia and those two candidates wishing to run on that platform were banned

having the much smaller population does put Ukraine at a disadvantage ...... whether that disadvantage translates into being a deciding factor over time remains to be seen but at this time cannot be assumed

russia is using NK shells and missiles , her supply of quality tanks is small and they are going through artillery pieces rapidly with stocks ever decreasing and what they do have is inaccurate through worn barrels with the prolonged heavy use
In 2 years time russia WILL be very short of almost everything .....Ukraine will have the advantage in hardware then IF .....the west can continue to supply adequately ........a big chance at that stage hardware will be the deciding factor , not personnel !
